  1. The EIF 2000 CD-ROM works with the DAO 3.6 engine 
  2. (Microsoft component to access data, distributed freely).

  4. The installation procedure detects whether this engine is already on the PC. 
  5. If not, it will be automatically installed.

  7. If you work with Windows NT without administration rights, the automatic installation 
  8. of DAO 3.6 will not be possible, due to the protection integrated in Windows NT. 
  9. The administration rights are necessary for the first installation, contact your administrator.

  11. For further installations on the same PC, users without administration rights 
  12. will be able to install and uninstall the software without the administrator.

  14. To uninstall the software, please use the menu 'Uninstall' on the main
  15. screen accessible when you put the CD in the reader.

  17. Note : Data Access Objects, or DAO, is a powerful programming model
  18. for database services. Originally designed as an ODBC layer for Microsoft Visual Basic
  19. version 2.0, DAO has evolved into a model that encompasses Microsoft Jet and ODBC, 
  20. and in the future, OLEDB.
